Hebrews_12:2_ fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Biblical Truths — about Satan — a liar, a thief and a murderer

This is by no means a comprehensive page about Satan. It is, though, a page to let you know some truths in dealing with Satan.

First, when you speak to, and about, Satan (and, oh yes, you do speak to Satan, at times, as Jesus spoke to him when He was tested), you need to not step outside of the example of the Word of God when you do so. Look how Michael, the archangel, spoke with Satan (italics is mine). In other words, watch what you say.

Jude 1:8-10  8 Yet in the same way these men, also by dreaming, defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile angelic majesties. 9 But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" 10 But these men revile the things which they do not understand; and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed.

Look how the Lord spoke with Satan in the book of Job. The following excerpts are from Job 1:7-8, 12  The Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” 8 The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.” …12 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on him.” So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord.

Look how Jesus spoke to Satan: Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'" Matthew 4:7 Jesus said to him, "On the other hand, it is written, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'" Matthew 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, "Go, Satan! For it is written, ' YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'"  Matthew 16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests, but man's." Read more about Satan in this search.

Now, with you knowing the above, Satan is, as the Bible says (and you can call Satan what Jesus did) a liar, a thief and a murderer: John 8:44 "You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

I do not want anyone to think that I am saying we are to respect Satan. I do not respect him and do not believe that is what is being taught to us by the Bible. The Bible is simply saying don’t become like Satan by hating or committing evil acts because that is what he wants you to do. I do not respect murderers and liars so I certainly do not respect the father of them. I despise Satan and all he and his followers stand for. Satan’s goal is your spiritual death and if he can’t get that (if you are saved, he cannot) he will do all he can to get in your way and discourage you. Thank the Lord we have the Lord Jesus as our friend and protector. Jesus has already won the battle against Satan at Calvary when He paid our sin debt in full. Do not fear Satan at all and do not give him an inch. Love others and do not hate (though you may despise evil).

If you’re not saved, Come to Jesus!

Romans 8:38-39 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (King James).
