Reading the word of God
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
God, by His grace and love, speaks to you from His word. I could not function at all in this world without His word. By my nature I make mistakes. I think I’m doing something right and then God’s quiet voice lets me know that I just thought and acted in the flesh. So, I open my Bible and God speaks to me... and He speaks seriously to me, and I undo or reverse my mistake (when possible... and many are by God’s grace, when you are attentive you can take that one step back before harm is done) and get back on the right path. Then God takes me to another verse and it’s like He is right next to me speaking to me and this time He tells me that things are okay now but “...listen to what I am speaking to you…” I am here Lord, and listening.
If you want to clearly hear what God is saying you must open His word. He will direct you, rebuke you (part of directing you) comfort you and tell you that now you are back on the right path (if you are). God’s word will cut deep into you and then you will realize what a great blessing it is to have the Creator or everything speaking to you. Human words cannot describe God speaking to you. All I can say is, I praise Your Name Lord God. You are God and there is no other.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (King James)
James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
The entire Bible is truth but you need to know how and when to apply the words God shows you from His word. God will lead you by His word to the correct verse or verses for that moment in your life. Sometimes He tells you things ahead of time to prepare you. Sometimes He tells you about the past present and the future. Whatever He tells you to do, do it. Love and obey. Read His word so you will know what He wants you to do and if He wants you to act or be still...
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
A Time for Everything
1 There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven-- 2 A time to give birth and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted. 3 A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up. 4 A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance. 5 A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing. 6 A time to search and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep and a time to throw away. 7 A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; A time to be silent and a time to speak. 8 A time to love and a time to hate; A time for war and a time for peace.
If you’re not saved, Come to Jesus! |

Romans 8:38-39 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
